Every once in a while, there’s definitely some sort of occasion that would require you to dress up. Perhaps you might still be able to work your way around a low-cut and/or strapless outfit, but a backless outfit is a different ball game altogether. What Is A Backless Bra?
A backless bra is exactly just that: a bra without a back strap, so your back will be left completely on display. A fashion item that is designed to support your breasts without a strap running across your back, backless bras are worn when items of clothing are designed to leave the back bare. Basically, they are just like a bra, except that it’s backless. Backless bras can come with or without shoulder straps, though most backless bras are usually strapless as well. 🙂
How Does A Backless Bra Work?
For backless bras with shoulder straps, the straps are attached to the bottom of the cups, so the bra is essentially strapped onto your front, as it doesn’t wrap around your back. For outfits that are backless but still have straps or sleeves, you could wear this type of backless bra. The other type are backless strapless bras, are they are usually adhesive, which means that you literally stick them onto your boobs.
Some of you may know it by another name, nude bra, or nude strapless bra. A stick on strapless backless bra usually comes with instructions on exactly how to stick them, and they come with a front clip as well, so you’ll be able to see and feel the support when you clip them together. 😁
How Do I Put On A Backless Bra?
We don’t think you’ll have a problem with backless bras that come with shoulder straps, and they’re not that common anyway, so we’ll just skip straight ahead to the nude bras. Whatever you call them, they are almost always adhesive, and most come in separate cups.
First of all, make sure that your breasts are clean and dry. Stick on the cups on the correct breasts – the cups usually have a right and left side. When you stick them on, don’t stick them too high up, or position them horizontally. Aim to stick them on at a more vertical angle. Depending on how much cleavage you want, you can stick them further apart, or closer together. Clip them together, and ooh la la, look at you! Instant breast lifting! 😍
There are also types of backless bras that look just like a pair of wings, attached with a drawstring in the middle. Just like the separated backless bras, you can choose to stick them far away or close together. Simply pull on the drawstring to hold your breasts together, and you’re good to go! 👍
Note: These stick on bras don’t go well with heat and sweat, so be careful if your outfit isn’t body-hugging, and if you know you’re going to sweat and move around lots. You wouldn’t want your bra to slip off!
Tips On Wearing A Bra With Backless Clothing
If you’re not getting a backless bra, you can make do with other alternatives. The first is to sew in your own cups onto your dress or top. You could use cups from a regular bra, or get some foam bra inserts to sew on directly. That way, you won’t ever have to worry about what to wear underneath your backless outfit – it’s already there! If your backless outfit is not entirely backless (it’s maybe just a low-back), then you can convert your bra into a low-back bra.
It’s going to be difficult trying to explain how to do it in words, so we’ll be attaching a picture at the end of this paragraph for your reference. Alternatively, if you don’t mind, you could go for clear back/shoulder straps. You’ll have the security of a strap, but at least it won’t be super obvious. And the last two tips aren’t bra tips at all, but just alternatives. Use nipple tape/covers to prevent showing off your nipples, or use fashion tape to hold your breasts in place. Some people even use duct tape, but as we’ve never tried it personally, we’re not for it or against it; the choice is yours! 😄
