“I have to have bangs to cover my forehead, which is really high!” “Cut my hair short? No way! Do you want my face to look bigger than it already is?” Admit it, ladies; you’ve probably heard or even had these sort of conversations with your girlfriends before.
Common terms used to describe face shape usually consist of round, long, broad, big, or even food-related terms, such as “egg-shaped” or “round cookie”. Oval
Commonly regarded as the ideal face shape, the oval face shape is one where the cheekbones are the widest, and the jaw is narrower in comparison. There are no sharp angles, and the face is longer than it is wide. The oval face shape actually looks like an egg!

Round
Think ball, think cookie for this face shape. The round face shape has a wide hairline, as well as full cheekbones. The length and width of the face are almost equal, and just like the oval face shape, there are no angles: the jaw is rounded.

Oblong
Not to be confused with the oval face shape, the oblong face shape is characterised by a long and narrow bone structure, and the forehead, cheekbones, and jaw are all equal in width. Instead of having a pointy chin, the chin is rounded in the oblong face shape.

Square
The square face shape has a wide hairline and jawline, and very little curves. The forehead, cheekbones, and jaw are also almost equal in width. If the face happens to be longer than it is wide, then it’s a rectangle face shape!
Diamond
The diamond face shape has a narrow forehead and chin, and the cheekbones are the widest. It has the narrowest hairline among all face shapes, and the forehead and jawline are equal in width.

Pear/Triangle
Starting off with a small or narrow forehead, the structure of the face slowly expands downwards, resulting in a wider jawline. The chin is usually round, and the jawline can appear pouchy. The pear/triangle face shape is the least common type of face shape.

Inverted Triangle
The opposite of the pear/triangle face shape, this face shape features a wide forehead, before tapering down to a narrow chin. The hairline is straight, or slightly rounded. The chin is also pointed in this face shape.

Heart
The heart face shape and inverted triangle face shape are commonly confused for each other, but there’s an easy way to tell them apart. A heart shape face features a widow’s peak instead of a straight or rounded hairline. The cheekbones may also be wide in this face shape, although not wider than the forehead.
