2. Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again!

4. Mission: Impossible – Fallout

The iconic Mission: Impossible theme song played as soon as you read the words, didn’t it? In this sixth (already?!) installment, Tom Cruise is back as agent Ethan Hunt. He tries to fulfill his original briefing as the world faces great danger, but the CIA is starting to question his motives. It has everything an action movie should have: a race against time, the hunter and the hunted, saving the day… Catch Henry Cavill in this installment as well!

5. Disney’s Christopher Robin

Release Date: 16th August 2018

Christopher Robin is all grown up now, and is an working adult as the rest of us are. As he grew up, he lost his sense of wonder and imagination along the way. (Sadly, I’m sure some of us can relate.) Who should help him rediscover his joy and carefreeness but Winnie the Pooh and his friends from the Hundred Acre Wood? You can never go wrong with a Disney movie, and who knows, maybe you’ll discover your own joy after watching it too!

6. Slender Man

Release Date: 23rd August 2018

Slender Man was created as a fictional character back in 2009, and today he is popular enough to have had a movie made about him. A tall, thin, faceless figure, Slender Man is said to be responsible for the haunting and disappearance of many children and teens. A group of teenage girls try to investigate this mystery, but then, one of them goes missing. Has she been taken by Slender Man?

7. The Nun

An inventive sequel to the 1987 “Predator”, the 2018 “Predator” is all about DNA upgrade. Translation: they’re now much stronger and much harder to kill. The clock is hidden in Lewis and Jonathan’s current residence, and they must find it before time runs out.

10. Venom

Release Date: 4th October 2018

There’s really not much news except this little excerpt found on IMDB: “When Eddie Brock acquires the powers of a symbiote, he will have to release his alter-ego ‘Venom’ to save his life”. That, and he’s the anti-hero in Spider-Man. We’ll just have to watch it when it releases to find out everything.

11. Mowgli

Release Date: 18th October 2018

If you don’t know the tale of Mowgli, it’s time to pick up the book at the bookstore! Mowgli is a human child raised by a pack of wolves, and has a bear (Baloo) and a panther (Bagheera) as his teachers and confidantes. All the animals in the jungle have come to accept him as one of them, except for one: Shere Khan the tiger. But what happens when Mowgli comes face to face with his human origins, knowing nothing of them?

12. The Nutcracker And The Four Realms

Another Disney film, The Nutcracker and the Four Realms drops just about two months before Christmas, which is perfect timing! Let’s find out together on the 1st of November and join Clara on her adventure!

13. The Grinch

Release Date: 6th November 2018

14. Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald

Release Date: 15th November 2018

All Potterheads will already have this important date marked down, trust me. As for the rest of you, I suggest watching the first Fantastic Beasts movie first before watching this. Obviously, Grindelwald is a criminal, and this movie will explore his evil acts, but there’s more to it than that, because the fantastic beasts will be playing a part in this as well. How do the animals and a criminal get linked together? Go and watch the first movie, then come for this. It’ll make perfect sense!

15. Robin Hood

Release Date: 22nd November 2018

My, my, my. Taron Egerton sure is on a roll as he takes on yet another major role as Robin Hood, everyone’s favourite thief. He robs the rich to help the poor, but then he teams up with a commander to overthrow the corrupt English crown. I don’t know about you, but after watching Taron in action in both the Kingsman movies, there’s no way I’m sitting this one out.

16. Ralph Breaks The Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2

Release Date: 22nd November 2018

Disney movies FTW! Currently, this already has girls everywhere squealing in delight as the trailer features ALL the Disney princesses in a scene, at the same time! Six years after the first film, Ralph and Vanellope are now friends, and they embark on a new adventure in the Internet data space. They don’t seem to know much in the space, so watch them as they pick up new information on their journey!

17. Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse

Release Date: 13th December 2018

Instead of a real-live version, this Spider-Man movie is an animated version. As with any other Spider-Man movie we all know, a high-school must balance between his school life and life as Spider-Man. But there’s a twist. Our superhero character in this movie, Miles Morales, is introduced to the Spider-Verse, where there can be more than one Spider-Man. Say whaaaaat?

18. Aquaman

Release Date: 20th December 2018

DC’s Aquaman will finally be formally introduced in his own movie: Aquaman! Besides having incredible strength and speed, Aquaman also has the power to command all marine life, which is pretty cool, methinks. As (reluctant) ruler of Atlantis, his underwater kingdom, his task isn’t an easy one. War is about to break out between his own people and the “surface dwellers” (which I assume is people on land), and he will face a hard time dealing with this.

19. Bumblebee

Release Date: 20th December 2018

Ooh, a girl protagonist in otherwise male-dominated films that are related to this one! Bumblebee appears as a Volkswagen Beetle, but Charlie our leading lady soon finds out that Bee is not any ordinary Beetle: he’s a Transformer! Suddenly, they’re being hunted down by a government agency, and they also discover that Bee isn’t the only Transformer on Earth. The problem is that they might not be friendly either.

20. Mary Poppins Returns

Release Date: 26th December 2018

Everybody’s favourite nanny has returned, y’all! Who could forget her simple trick of “a spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down”? Disney is so great for bringing her back. In the era of the Great Depression, Mary Poppins (played by Emily Blunt) visits the grown-up Jane and Michael Banks, along with Michael’s children. They had suffered from a family tragedy, and now struggle to find joy in life. With her magical abilities and friend jack, Mary aims to bring the whole family alive with happiness again!

And that’s it! Which movie are you the most excited for? Is it Mission: Impossible, Slender Man, The Nutcracker and The Four Realms, or something else? Let us know, and tell us why too! 😀
